About Us

Our two Neighbourhood Houses in Gagebrook and Bridgewater are vibrant spaces where everyone is welcome, and meaningful connections are made.

With over 30 years of service, JRS has a deep-rooted commitment to supporting our people in the Brighton Local Government Area, particularly the communities of Bridgewater Gagebrook and Herdsman’s Cove (kutalayna). Our Neighbourhood Houses bring people together to share experiences, learn new skills, and build friendships. We create opportunities for everyone—people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities—to feel included, valued, and supported. As safe and welcoming spaces, we work to reduce social isolation and help people thrive.

We collaborate closely with local service providers, other Neighbourhood Houses, and Neighbourhood Houses Tasmania, the network’s peak body. Together, we make sure our programs are welcoming, useful, and make a real difference—helping everyone build a better future. Whether you’re looking to participate, partner with us, or support our mission, there’s a place for you in the JRS story. JRS and the Neighbourhood House network are supported by the Tasmanian Government.
